Acerca de esta actividad

Ayurvedic medicine evolved in India about 5000 years ago, and is considered to be the world's oldest healthcare system. It is named for the Sanskrit word Ayurveda, meaning the “Science of Life”.
Ayurveda views each person as unique with individual needs. We may all be human but we have slightly different physiologies and emotional tendencies. Ayurveda teaches that for this reason, each person's path toward optimal health is also unique.

In this workshop, you will learn:
What is Ayurveda?
What are the principle roles of Ayurveda?
Introduction to the Doshas/Characteristics.
How does my Dosha affect my health and food choices.
What are the qualities of Vata-Pitta-Kapha?
How to use Pranayama or breath techniques to balance the different doshas
A 10 minute guided meditation.

Space is limited. $35 early bird. $40 at the door.

Shruthi Krishnaswamy started practicing yoga in 2006 and is passionate about a variety of styles of yoga including Vinyasa and Yin Yoga! She is also a great believer in the benefits of Pranayama and meditation.

Anne Lindberg, an acupuncturist and Ayurveda expert will be available to provide answers to questions.
