Acerca de esta actividad
This course has been designed as an experiential introduction to the practices and theories of Ayurveda in the context of yoga therapy and teaching. In this course, students experience how Ayurveda offers a deep understanding of imbalances we may experience in our koshas and how to address our unique needs for a healthy and vibrant life. Students are empowered to apply that knowledge to life and restore balance as a form of self-care and preparation for service as a professional yoga therapist or yoga teacher.
In this course, students engage in relevant Ayurvedic practices – dinacharya, asana practice, pranayam, mantra, etc. – to address balance in both doshas and gunas. Study includes but is not limited to:
History and Philosophy of Ayurveda,
the 5 Elements,
the Gunas and the Doshas,
Food and Dis-ease,
the Six Tastes,
Dinacharya,
Asana,
Agni and Pranavayu,
Ayurvedic Perspective of Addiction, and
Ayurvedic Cooking.
