Acerca de esta actividad

Ayurveda is the knowledge of life. With this knowledge, you will learn how to keep your body healthy so you can attain your spiritual goals. We are all made up of the elements… earth, water, fire, air and either. You will learn about the dosha, which represents your unique make up of these elements. You will learn the history of Ayurveda and daily routines for maintaining optimal health. Yoga and Ayurveda are sisters that complement the other; you will learn poses to keep your dosha in balance. You will need yoga mat, journal and pen. By the end of the workshop you will have a better understanding of what you are made of, take personal responsibility for your well-being and have the knowledge to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

BIO:

Candace Koslen has earned a certificate as a practitioner of Ayurveda from the California College of Ayurveda. She is also a licensed massage therapist, reflexologist, registered yoga teacher and reiki master. Ayurveda and Yoga are sister sciences. Yoga is the spiritual side of Ayurveda and Ayurveda is the healing side of Yoga. Ayurveda is a natural, holistic approach to healing the body. It is thousands of years old and rooted deep in Indian culture. Ayurveda first appeared in written text about 5,000+ years ago in The Vedas. The Vedas are one of the oldest writings in the world and contain the knowledge of India’s philosophical and spiritual traditions. The Vedas also contain India’s medical system of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is the knowledge of life, with a foundation built on lifestyle and personal responsibility. When managing any dis-ease, Ayurveda uses five-sense therapy as a means of treatment because our environment is anything we are exposed to through our five senses. Ayurvedic medicine is anything found in nature: herbs, foods, colors, sounds, aromas and touch. Ayurveda also introduces daily routines and guidelines for healthy eating to minimize stress and bring balance to our daily lives. Ayurveda’s goal is to support each individual on their journey; to support the body and the mind as we evolve on our spiritual path. An Ayurvedic consultation would take a close look at physical structure, function and personality to determine the person’s constitution. The constitution is the balance of the doshas in the body. The doshas are made up of the elements; earth, water, fire, air, and ether. Knowing and understanding your dosha is crucial for managing disease in the body. Gathering more information about the patient’s concern’s, complaints, daily routines and environment will help to determine a treatment plan. Daily routines will be outlined and a guideline for healthy eating will be given. A consultation takes about an hour and the cost is $100.00.
